*I have gained knowledge about the physical body through the study of anatomy and physiology, and through the experience gained in working with the physical body.

*I have gained knowledge of the human emotional system through the study of Psychology, and through the experience of teaching children for 10 years, which has been much like clinical experience. A wide array of emotional situations, presented on a daily basis, has given me a clear understanding of what things trigger, and what things balance, emotions that are out of balance.

 

*I have gained knowledge about the human energetics system through study of Reiki, and through subsequent Reiki Certification and practice, and through the understanding of and practice of manipulating energy. The energy that the living body uses is delivered to the body through the system of chakras, and flows in a system of meridians that encompasses the physical body, something like the circulatory system does.

Orchids are used throughout the world, in many forms, to assist healing. Thirty-six species of orchids are used in the making of Ayurvedic medicines. Five dendrobium orchid species are used in Chinese medicine. Across cultures and belief systems the orchid symbolizes enlightenment, purity, and spiritual growth, as well as tranquility, inner peace, and harmony. And besides, they are beautiful!

To me, the orchid represents the profound vitality and beauty of life, in harmony.

What I Do

​

Reiki is a healing modality that is used by a dedicated practitioner, who accesses Reiki energy that is available to all human beings that flows through the hands of the practitioner who sends the flow of energy into a body during a Reiki session. Reiki practitioners receive an attunement that connects the Reiki practitioner to Reiki energy so that the practitioner not only uses, but actually becomes Reiki energy. It is a practice that was rediscovered by Dr. Mitsuo Usui in Japan is the 1930s, when it was understood through contemplation that healing energy is always available, and that this healing energy can be used by people to make their bodies feel and be balanced by directing energy to the places in the body where energy is blocked and not moving that impacts the general flow of energy through the body. When the flow of energy is blocked, the body does not work the way that it was designed to work.  Reiki energy keeps the flow of energy in the body flowing so that blocks do not occur.

Reiki energy flows through the hands and into the body of the one receiving Reiki. The practitioner places hands that feel quite warm on or above the person who is receiving Reiki, and uses hand placements to direct Reiki energy, working along the pathway of chakra locations. The practitioner may work on each chakra area for a period of time before moving on to the next location. There are 12 major chakras that are located on the line that runs along the spinal column, from above the top of the head to the feet. Basically, the energy that is being given to each chakra balances each chakra and has a balancing effect on the body's total energy. The practitioner can detect areas in which the energy is not moving, and move the energy so that it is not backed up in a location. While balancing energy takes no time to do, and Reiki acts instantly, there can be a delay in feeling the full effects of the session, as the body needs time to shift its many parts to the state of balance that Reiki energy achieves.

The Reiki session is scheduled for a two hour period. This time includes a full hour to talk. During this time, the practitioner may talk about how Reiki works with a new client, but most of the talk time is dedicated to you, the recipient, and gives you the opportunity to talk about yourself and your needs for healing.  Please talk about everything that you believe is relevant to your situation. Everything that you talk about is held in confidentiality. The Reiki session itself lasts about 45 minutes to one hour.
 

The Reiki practitioner is not limited by location.  The Reiki work that is not done in-person is referred to as work done distantly. Reiki energy accesses the energy connections, the energetic signature, in all living things instantly, so that even if a person is on the other side of the Earth from the practitioner, the effect of Reiki done distantly is the same as the effect of Reiki done in person. 

 

When I work with you, even before we meet, I get general information about which body systems and organs show indications of energy imbalance, and I do distant work that sends Reiki energy balancing to those parts. The things that you tell me about during talk time are the things that I work on in session. I do additional distant work after the session has ended, if there is a need.
